Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Pushes for Full National Education Policy Rollout by 2025

In Rohtak, Haryana, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini made a bold promise on Sunday: the state will fully implement the new National Education Policy (NEP) by 2025. He shared this vision while kicking off the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Shiksha Sadan, a new education center. Saini highlighted how strengthening Haryana’s education system aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of turning India into a developed nation by 2047.

The CM stressed that his government stands committed to making Haryana a top player in education. As part of this drive, the state plans to set up 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs). These projects will create jobs for lakhs of young people. Over the last 10 and a half years, the government has hired 1.80 lakh youth for government jobs strictly on merit—no bribes or favoritism involved, Saini assured in his speech.

Speaking at an event marking the 75th anniversary of the local Saini Shikshan Sansthan, where he was the chief guest, Saini praised the institution’s dedication to education. He congratulated them for spreading knowledge across society for 75 glorious years. It all started back on May 10, 1941, in a simple community courtyard in Rohtak with the Saini Primary School. Inspired by Mahatma Jyotiba Phule’s belief that "work is worship," the institute has grown tremendously, he noted.

To support their efforts, Saini announced a Rs. 51 lakh grant from his voluntary fund. He also promised to meet all four demands raised by the Saini Shikshan Sansthan as much as possible. Rajya Sabha MP Ram Chander Jangra chipped in with a Rs. 21 lakh grant. During the event, the CM inaugurated the new Shiksha Sadan and laid the foundation stone for Saini Public School’s upgraded building.

Saini paid tribute to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, the social reformer and pioneer of women’s education, and his wife Savitribai Phule, India’s first female teacher. Both hailed from the Saini community and fought tirelessly for girls’ education, widow remarriage, and uplifting the underprivileged. "We’re following their path with our ‘Haryana Ek – Haryanvi Ek’ spirit," the CM said. He recalled Phule’s words: only education can truly empower individuals and society. Together with Savitribai, they opened India’s first girls’ school in Pune, igniting confidence among women and marginalized groups.

The Saini community, descendants of ancient king Maharaja Surasena, has a rich history of hard work, sacrifice, and service. They played a key role in India’s freedom struggle too, producing heroes like Azad Hind Fauj soldiers Sardar Mehnga Singh Saini, Ajit Singh Saini, and Hari Singh Saini.

Under initiatives like Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Haryana ensures every child gets enrolled in school. The state boosts digital education with smart classrooms, tablet distribution, and e-learning. Thanks to Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, girls now enjoy safer transport, more scholarships, and better sanitation facilities.

Saini outlined exciting steps forward: model schools in every block, teaching kids artificial intelligence, coding, and digital skills from an early age. Skill development starts right in schools, and higher education focuses on research and innovation. Atal Tinkering Labs operate in all 22 districts, while over 5,000 schools now have Wi-Fi. For digital push, 5 lakh tablets went to students in classes 10 to 12, digital boards reached 40,000 classrooms, and 1,201 ICT labs are up and running. A new Functional Literacy and Numeracy program targets classes 1 to 3 to build strong basics.

Through the National Skills Qualification Framework, kids learn practical skills in 1,001 schools so far. The state has set up 1,420 Government Model Sanskriti Primary Schools and 218 Senior Secondary ones. Under the PM Shri School Scheme, 250 such schools are now open.

In government schools, top students get free coaching and scholarships. The Super-100 program has helped 534 kids crack tough exams like IIT and NEET. To empower backward classes, there’s 27% reservation in education and jobs. Families earning up to Rs. 3 lakh annually can get education loans up to Rs. 15 lakh for India studies or Rs. 20 lakh abroad at just 4% interest.

Saini added perks for low-income families: no school fees up to class 12 for those earning under Rs. 1.80 lakh a year, plus free college and university fees for their daughters. The government admitted 2,650 poor kids to private schools. Under Vidyarthi Parivahan Suraksha Yojna, 35,000 students from classes 1 to 12 get free transport, and 6,506 girls in classes 9 to 12 benefit from Chhatra Parivahan Suraksha Yojana.

The CM wrapped up by honoring the institution’s star students and generous donors, celebrating their role in building a brighter future through education.
