NIA Launches Major Raids in Terror Conspiracy Case Across 5 States and J&K
New Delhi: In a big push against terrorism, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) swung into action on Monday, raiding 22 spots spread across five states and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). Officials shared that these searches target a major terror conspiracy, focusing on groups involved in terror financing and deadly attacks on civilians.
The raids hit eight places in Bihar, one each in Karnataka and Maharashtra, one in Tamil Nadu, two in Uttar Pradesh, and a whopping nine in J&K. Inside J&K, teams combed through areas like Budgam, Kulgam, Pattan, Pulwama, and Kangan. This comes as the NIA digs deeper into several high-profile cases shaking the region.
One key focus is the horrific Reasi terror attack on June 9, 2024, in Jammu’s Reasi district. Terrorists ambushed a bus carrying pilgrims, killing nine and wounding many more. The NIA took over the probe after locals allegedly sheltered the attackers. They’re leaving no stone unturned to crack this case wide open.
Another big one under the spotlight is the April 22 terror attack in Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam. Gunmen struck, claiming 26 lives in a brutal assault. The government handed this investigation to the NIA too, as they hunt down links to terror networks.
In a related win for security forces, three Pakistani terrorists—Suleman, Jibran, and Hamza Afghani—met their end on July 28, 2025. Joint teams gunned them down in the foothills of Mahadev Peak, deep in Dachigam National Park’s Harwan area in Srinagar district. This was part of ‘Operation Mahadev.’ Officials say they tracked these Pahalgam-linked militants using photos from a mobile phone seized during a 2024 encounter in south Kashmir.
Monday’s NIA raids follow a massive crackdown on June 5, 2025, where they hit 32 locations in J&K districts like Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian, Baramulla, and Kupwara. That op zeroed in on overground workers (OGWs) helping terror outfits with their plots. They nabbed several suspects and grabbed key evidence, like digital gadgets and documents.
Sources say these fresh searches aim to smash the backbone of terror groups in the Valley. The NIA keeps hunting operatives, following money trails, and grabbing proof to make J&K safer. It’s all part of their non-stop fight against terrorism in India.
Authorities are calling on everyone to stay alert. If you spot anything suspicious, report it right away to the security agencies. Your tip could make a real difference in stopping these threats.
