Rajnath Singh Praises Indian Army’s Bravery in Operation Sindoor

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh gave a strong shoutout to the Indian armed forces on Wednesday, celebrating their courage during Operation Sindoor. Speaking in Hyderabad, he said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India’s power has grown so much that no one dares to challenge our sovereignty.

Singh shared a key detail from the operation, which India launched on May 7 in response to the deadly April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. A Jaish-e-Mohammed commander admitted that the family of notorious terrorist Masood Azhar got wiped out in the Bahawalpur strike. "This shows the bravery of our Indian Army soldiers," Singh said. He mentioned a video of this admission released just a day ago, adding that Modi’s guidance has made India even stronger.

The minister spoke at an event marking the 78th anniversary of Hyderabad Liberation Day. This day remembers how Operation Polo freed the city from Nizam rule and brought it into the Indian Union. During the event, Singh unveiled a statue of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the former Union Home Minister who worked tirelessly to unite princely states with India after independence.

Singh also cleared the air on rumors about the India-Pakistan ceasefire. He firmly denied any third-party involvement, like from the US, in stopping the hostilities. "Some people claim a third party stepped in, but that’s not true. We paused Operation Sindoor ourselves. If another terror attack happens, we’ll resume it right away," he assured the crowd. He wanted everyone in the country to know that India calls the shots on this.

This comes amid recent buzz. Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar told Al Jazeera that no third party mediated during Operation Sindoor. He even said they discussed it with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who noted India opposes outside help. US President Donald Trump has claimed credit for the ceasefire, but India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar called those statements "bizarre and unfair." Instead, India credits direct talks between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) from both sides.

Singh’s words highlight India’s firm stand against terrorism and its growing military strength, boosting national pride on this important day.
