In Puri, Odisha, famous sand artist and Padma Shri winner Sudarsan Pattnaik has wowed everyone with a stunning sand sculpture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This incredible artwork, unveiled on PM Modi’s 75th birthday, features a 5-foot-high figure made from about 6 tons of sand, surrounded by 750 beautifully arranged lotus flowers. The whole installation sits proudly on Puri Beach, celebrating the leader’s big day.
The sculpture carries a powerful message: “Bharat Ki Udaan, Modi Ke Saath,” which means India’s flight forward with Modi. It highlights how India has soared in the last decade under PM Modi’s guidance, from massive infrastructure projects and Digital India to breakthroughs like Chandrayaan-3. Think about the game-changing welfare programs too—Ayushman Bharat for healthcare, Ujjwala for clean cooking gas, Jan Dhan for banking access, and the push for Atmanirbhar Bharat and Vocal for Local. All these efforts show India’s rise in renewable energy, defence, space, and more, building a stronger, self-reliant nation.
Students from the Sudarsan Pattnaik Sand Art Institute jumped in to help create this tribute, adding a touch of teamwork and service (seva) to the project. It’s all about thanking PM Modi for his non-stop work toward a developed India, or Viksit Bharat.
“I wish Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji a very happy 75th birthday and pray for his continued service to the nation,” Pattnaik shared.
Sudarsan Pattnaik isn’t just any artist—he’s a global star who has represented India in over 65 international sand art events, bagging tons of awards. His creations often spotlight big issues like climate change, plastic pollution, HIV/AIDS, COVID-19, and world peace, putting Indian sand art on the map. This birthday artwork joins the nationwide celebrations, inspiring everyone with its message of unity and progress.
