In Kutch, Gujarat, officials from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways showed strong support for promoting Hindi at the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) in Kandla. Mrityunjay Jha, the Director of Coordination and Official Language, visited the port on Friday to check how well they follow official language rules.
Jha inspected the Hindi implementation at DPA and praised the team’s efforts. He felt deeply satisfied with the Hindi-related work and urged everyone to do even more in Hindi. After the visit, he handed over the inspection report to DPA Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh, an IRSME officer. The port authority shared this update on X, highlighting their commitment to official language compliance.
Earlier that day, Chairman Singh kicked off a special Hindi workshop led by Jha. The session focused on the nuts and bolts of the Official Language Policy, covering implementation and how to stick to the rules. Key attendees included the Hindi Nodal Officer, department heads, officers, and staff from DPA. They discussed the topic in depth, making it a hands-on learning experience for boosting Hindi use in daily port operations. DPA posted about the workshop on X, emphasizing its role in strengthening language policies at major Indian ports.
In other news from Kandla, the Consul General of the Netherlands, Nabil Taouati, met with Chairman Singh to explore ways to advance green and digital initiatives in ports and shipping. They talked about expanding efforts in zero-emission shipping and digitalization, building on the strong maritime partnership between India and the Netherlands. The Consulate General shared details on X, noting how this collaboration could lead to more sustainable port development in Gujarat and beyond.
