Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is set to kick off a major national conference in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, tomorrow. The event, happening at the Pancharatna Auditorium on September 14 and 15, 2025, focuses on empowering women to tackle the challenges of emerging technologies.
Titled “Empowering Women to Face Challenges of Emerging Technologies,” this two-day gathering will draw over 100 delegates from across India. They’ll dive into ways to help women succeed in the fast-changing world of tech, as per the official press release.
The discussions will spotlight India’s digital transformation and how cutting-edge fields like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Blockchain, Robotics, Quantum Computing, Biotechnology, and Cybersecurity affect women. Key topics include closing the gender digital divide, boosting women’s presence in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine), promoting digital safety, and supporting women in entrepreneurship and innovation.
The conference also ties into the idea of Women-Led Development for a Viksit Bharat, aiming for a developed India by 2047. It features sub-themes like Gender Responsive Budgeting to ensure fair resource allocation for women.
During the inaugural session on September 14, Birla will lead the proceedings. Joining him will be Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Harivansh, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Empowerment of Women D. Purandeswari, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker C. Ayyannapatrudu, and Legislative Council Chairman Koyye Moshenu Raju. Birla will also launch an exhibition on women empowerment and release a special commemorative souvenir.
The event wraps up on September 15 with a valedictory session featuring speeches from Governor Nazeer, Speaker Birla, Deputy Chairman Harivansh, and Chairperson Purandeswari. The Deputy Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly will give the vote of thanks.
