Senior BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain slammed Tejashwi Yadav’s ongoing Bihar Adhikar Yatra on Saturday, calling it nothing more than a desperate grab for votes that isn’t drawing real crowds.
“They’re hitting the road with their alliance just to chase votes, but these tours are flopping everywhere,” Hussain said. “You only see leaders angling for party tickets— the everyday people in Bihar are staying far away.” He painted the yatra as lacking any true public buzz, especially ahead of key elections.
JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar piled on, questioning Tejashwi’s track record on jobs and land issues in Bihar. “It’s great that Tejashwi Yadav is talking jobs during this Bihar Adhikar Yatra,” Kumar noted. “But how has he kept hold of the land that got allotted in exchange for those jobs?”
In a sharp jab tied to the ongoing Pitru Paksha period—when Hindus honor their ancestors—Kumar added: “If your father slipped up, and you were too young to stop it, at least donate that land to the most backward communities, Dalits, minorities, and the landless folks.”
The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) sees things differently. They launched the Bihar Adhikar Yatra on September 16 to spotlight pressing problems like unemployment in Bihar, rising prices, migration, corruption, poor law and order, and the state’s stalled industries.
At first, the yatra linked up with Rahul Gandhi’s separate Voter Adhikar Yatra, which hammered alleged voter list tampering during the Special Intensive Revision process. But now, Tejashwi has shifted gears. His recent speeches zero in on creating jobs and pointing fingers at the NDA government’s failures in Bihar.
Political watchers say this change helps Tejashwi step up as a strong voice in the opposition bloc, building momentum as Lok Sabha elections approach.
