In Hyderabad, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy handed out appointment letters to fresh Group One officers on Thursday, while slamming the previous BRS government for failing to hold even one such exam during their time in power.
Reddy accused the BRS, now in opposition, of throwing up roadblocks at every step to block the current government’s Group One recruitment drive. He pointed out how BRS leaders stooped low by claiming each post sold for a whopping Rs 2-3 crores. “Those allegations turned out to be totally false,” Reddy said, adding that his team finally delivered on the dreams of Telangana’s youth by running the exams smoothly.
The CM revealed that BRS leaders plotted behind the scenes with lawsuits and fake news campaigns to derail the process. “We faced all the criticism head-on and pushed through successfully,” he noted.
Reddy didn’t hold back on the BRS era’s mess-ups either. He charged them with stacking the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) with unqualified people, which led to exam papers leaking from photocopy shops. Since taking office, his government cleaned house at the TSPSC and rolled out big reforms to ensure transparent exams and fair hiring.
Turning to broader issues, the Chief Minister fired back at BRS jabs about Telangana’s very existence. “Telangana’s spirit lives on forever—this is its future,” he declared. He highlighted the state’s proud history of fights for social justice and equal chances. Reddy blasted BRS bigwigs and their families for once claiming to champion Telangana, only to betray its people and insult martyrs like Yadayya, Srikanthachari, and Ishan Reddy. “They’re nothing but traitors now,” he said.
In a heartfelt call to the new officers, Reddy urged them to team up in rebuilding Telangana. “Step up with full responsibility and don’t get tangled in opposition tricks,” he advised. “Let’s make Telangana a shining example for all of India.”
Finally, the CM dropped a unique warning to promote family values: If officers ignore their parents’ well-being, the government will slash 10% of their salary and send it straight to mom and dad. “Caring for your parents is everyone’s duty,” he stressed.
