Gandhinagar, Gujarat – The Gujarat Chief Minister, Bhupendra Patel, told the nation on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has connected ordinary people with the government, driving India’s growth in areas from cleanliness to high‑tech semiconductors. Patel highlighted how the state’s new Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences aim to spread this progress beyond big cities to rural villages, letting local voices shape development.
Patel gave his speech at the closing ceremony of a two‑day Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for North Gujarat, held at Ganpat University in Mehsana. He credited the conference to Modi’s vision of a “global village” that encourages “voices for local” action. The event signed 1,212 investment agreements across 21 sectors, with a total potential investment of ₹3.24 lakh crore set to boost the region’s economy.
“Success in North Gujarat shows that Modi’s leadership sparks new energy and jobs,” Patel said. He noted that Modi’s 2003 launch of the Vibrant Summit has evolved into a platform that now attracts global investors. Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai echoed this optimism, saying the first regional summit will help the area become a leader in state‑wide growth.
During the conference, industries, entrepreneurs, and policy makers discussed quality, skills, and small‑to‑large enterprises. Industries Minister Balvantsinh Rajput praised Modi’s focus on every citizen and the state’s easy‑doing‑business reforms, such as a single‑window system and tax incentives for incomes up to ₹12 lakh. He also highlighted new opportunities for employment and innovation.
Industry representatives said the summit fostered collaboration and networking. More than 34 foreign firms and over 170 startups attended, with delegates from 80 countries. Agriculture experts from Japan, Vietnam, South Korea and the Netherlands joined a panel that attracted nearly 29,000 registrations, including 440 international delegates.
Mahindra Agri chief Ashok Sharma and Welspun Group CEO Kapil Maheshwari praised Gujarat’s infrastructure and industrial growth, especially in the potato food‑processing and renewable energy sectors. The event drew government officials, university leaders, and industry association heads, all underscoring the state’s commitment to inclusive development.
Chief Minister Patel ended by inviting residents across Gujarat to join future regional conferences. “Every discussion, seminar and MoU made at this event will open a new chapter for our region,” he said, expressing confidence that the climate of investment and innovation will keep driving Gujarat forward.
