A prominent businessman in Patna met a shocking end when he fell from the 10th floor of a high-rise apartment, leaving police to probe what looks like a mysterious death.
Bikram Singh, who owned the Kulhadia Complex and hailed from Kulhadia village in Bhojpur district, plunged from the Grand Apartment on Fraser Road around 2 a.m. on Saturday. Officers from the Kotwali police station got the call about an hour later and rushed to the scene. They sent his body straight to PMCH Hospital for a post-mortem to figure out exactly what happened.
The Forensic Science Laboratory team joined the effort to scour the area for clues. Kotwali DSP Krishna Murari Prasad shared that Singh used to live in the building but sold his flat a few years back. He still dropped by often to chat with residents.
Things got suspicious after a gathering the night before. Around 11 p.m. on Friday, Singh showed up for dinner with his wife, Deepti Singh, and three others—Nidal, Hussain, and Rohit Kumar. Prasad told reporters they suspect drugs might have played a role, so police grabbed food samples from the party. They’ve got Nidal and Hussain in custody for questioning, but Rohit Kumar is on the run right now. Deepti was there when it all went down, and cops plan to talk to Singh’s family at the hospital too.
Right now, investigators can’t say if it was an accident, suicide, or something more sinister like a push. “We’re digging into whether he slipped or if foul play was involved,” Prasad said. The full picture should come clear once the forensic report and post-mortem results roll in.
This tragic Patna businessman death has sparked a full police investigation into the Fraser Road incident, with eyes on possible drug use and the party’s attendees.
