Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a large rally in Bettiah, Bihar, on Saturday, drawing thousands of local supporters who praised his leadership and the government’s progress. The event, part of the BJP’s campaign ahead of Bihar’s second voting phase on November 11, was seen by many as a celebration of newfound stability and development in the region.
Crowds swelled as people from Champaran and surrounding districts gathered to hear Modi speak. “All of us in Bihar are safe because of PM Modi,” said Barjesh Patel. He added that the era of “jungle raj” under Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) lordly rule is behind them, noting new schools, better law‑and‑order, and increased girls’ education.
Other attendees echoed this enthusiasm. Vidya Lal Chowdhary explained that the crowd was so large the venue filled to capacity. “People couldn’t even find a place to stand,” he said. “We have all seen the RJD era. PM Modi has assured us he will never let us face problems again.”
Gauri Lal Shankar shared similar praise. “Lakhs of people came to listen to PM Modi. He gave a very good speech. Since Modi became Prime Minister, everyone has been benefiting from central government schemes and development has taken place.”
After the rally, Bettiah streets buzzed with excitement as locals highlighted the “return of development” and the end of fear and lawlessness associated with prior regimes. The rally underscored Modi’s continued popularity in Bihar and his party’s push to secure a win in the state’s upcoming elections.
