Patna, Oct 22 – Bihar is gearing up for one of the biggest election battles in India’s recent political history. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will take the lead for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) campaign on October 24 with four major rallies across the state.
Modi starts his campaign in the “land of Karpoori Thakur.” He will speak at a huge gathering in Samastipur and then head to Begusarai. The former prime minister is expected to rally voters behind the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ticket and send a stern warning to the opposition.
These trips mark Modi’s first appearance in Bihar after the election launch. He will visit again on October 30 for rallies in Muzaffarpur and Chhapra. Meanwhile, Amit Shah will hold two rallies on October 24 – in Siwan and Buxar – his second visit to the state in just a week. He had already toured Taraiya (Chhapra) from Oct 16‑18.
BJP state units have prepared for the visits, with local volunteers ready to drive large crowds. The rallies are expected to heat up the political atmosphere and give the NDA a strong boost for the Bihar Assembly polls.
Opposition forces are not far behind. The Grand Alliance, known as Mahagathbandhan, will hold a joint press conference on October 23 in Patna. After that, alliance leaders will split across the state to launch their own campaign events.
With both the NDA and the Grand Alliance ramping up their efforts, October 24 will likely be a turning point in Bihar’s election calendar, setting the stage for a fierce campaign ahead of the state assembly elections.
