Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke powerfully to a crowd in Begusarai on Tuesday, urging Bihar’s young voters to choose wisely in the upcoming election. He warned that the Mahagathbandhan – the alliance of the RJD and Congress – has been mired in “jungle raj” and internal fights over seat‑sharing. Modi criticised the coalition’s focus on self‑interest rather than public service, calling their discord “Mahalathbadhan”.
During the rally, Modi reminded the youth that in 2005 their parents helped end Bihar’s “jungle raj” and bring good governance to the state. He asked the new generation to follow that legacy, saying the October‑November campaign of 2025 offers a chance to build a prosperous, Viksit Bihar. “The NDA government showed how we can govern well,” he said, “now it’s your turn to lift Bihar forward.”
Modi also slammed the RJD and Congress, labeling the former the most corrupt family in Bihar and the latter the most corrupt family in India. He pointed out that many members of both families are on bail, implying the people cannot trust them to lead the state.
Highlighting the past, Modi noted Bihar’s industrial boom in the 1960s, when refineries and fertilizer plants thrived before being shut down by jungle raj. “Those who ruled during that time kept their children in powerful offices but abandoned ordinary folks,” he said. He added that the NDA’s first step of ending jungle raj eased people’s suffering and that a return to NDA governance would push Bihar to new heights.
The crowd cheered as Modi declared that Bihar will move forward at a new pace when the NDA comes to power, urging voters across the state to choose progress over corruption.
