Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off a major initiative in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, on Wednesday, launching the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan. This ambitious program aims to empower tribal communities across India, making it the world’s largest grassroots leadership drive for tribals. It will reach 11 crore tribal citizens in over 1 lakh villages spread across 30 states and union territories.
The launch ties into the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh, a year-long celebration declared by the Government of India from November 15, 2024, to November 15, 2025, under PM Modi’s leadership. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs rolled out this responsive governance mission to boost tribal development and connect people directly with government schemes.
Speaking at the event, PM Modi highlighted how the Adi Sewa Parv – a key part of the Abhiyan – is already gaining momentum nationwide. He started the Madhya Pradesh version right from Dhar, calling it a vital link for tribal families to access benefits from various schemes. “This will bring real change to the ground level,” he said, emphasizing its role in building stronger communities.
The fortnight-long Adi Sewa Parv will run in 1 lakh tribal-dominated villages. During this time, villagers will team up to create their own Tribal Village Vision 2030, setting goals that align with the bigger dream of Viksit Bharat@2047 – India’s vision for a developed nation by 2047.
In every village, locals will set up an Adi Sewa Kendra, a one-stop center for citizen services. People will also pitch in with Adi Sewa Samay, offering just one hour of voluntary service each week to support their community.
On the same day, PM Modi also unveiled the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar (SNSP) Abhiyaan alongside the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah. These efforts focus on women’s health and family empowerment through better nutrition programs. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav joined the PM for the launch, showing strong state support for these tribal and wellness initiatives.
