Prashant Kishor Slams Modi, Rahul Gandhi, and Tejashwi Yadav as ‘Expired Medicines’ in Bihar Politics

In a sharp attack during Bihar’s heated political scene, Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor labeled Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav as "expired medicines." Speaking to reporters in Hajipur on Tuesday, Kishor claimed these leaders can’t tackle key issues like corruption and unemployment in Bihar.

"It’s a positive change that Bihar’s leaders are finally feeling the pressure to connect with people," Kishor said. "For the first time, they worry about losing votes if they don’t hit the streets. But Modi, Rahul Gandhi, and Tejashwi Yadav? They’re like outdated pills—they won’t fix corruption or create jobs."

This comes ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections later this year, where the battle lines are clear. The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, holds a strong position in the 243-member assembly with 131 seats. The BJP leads with 80 MLAs, followed by JD(U) with 45, HAM(S) with 4, and support from 2 independents.

On the other side, the opposition Mahagathbandhan, spearheaded by the RJD, has 111 seats. RJD tops the list with 77 MLAs, Congress has 19, CPI(ML) 11, CPI(M) 2, and CPI 2.

Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav kicked off his Adhikar Yatra on Tuesday to fight youth unemployment in Bihar. The rally focuses on women’s rights, teacher respect, and improving health and education systems. It aims to cover districts missed by the earlier Voter Adhikar Yatra, which Rahul Gandhi led with RJD’s support.

RJD MP Sanjay Yadav explained the move: "After the Voter Adhikar Yatra, some areas got left behind. Our workers and leaders from those spots urged us to act, so Tejashwi ji stepped up. This yatra is about building a new Bihar—jobs for the youth, industries, better schools and hospitals, and honoring women and teachers."

The Adhikar Yatra will wrap up on September 20 in Vaishali, passing through Begusarai, Khagaria, and Madhepura. As Bihar’s election buzz grows, these moves show how leaders are racing to win over voters on unemployment and development.
