PM Modi’s advice brought a positive change in my life: Ex-Tripura CM Biplab Deb

In Agartala, former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb shared a heartfelt story about how a single piece of advice from Prime Minister Narendra Modi changed his approach to life and politics. Speaking in a video message on Tuesday, Deb, who is now a Lok Sabha MP and former BJP state president in Tripura, highlighted Modi’s wisdom: “One sentence, one lesson, can bring positive change in life.”

Deb recalled his days as Tripura’s Chief Minister, when he often met PM Modi. During one such meeting, Modi asked if Deb consulted anyone before making big decisions. Deb admitted he didn’t. That’s when Modi gave him key advice—always discuss important choices with a trusted, knowledgeable person. “You can turn to any political leader, academician, religious figure, or someone you trust who has no personal agenda,” Deb quoted Modi as saying.

Looking back, Deb said this guidance reshaped his decision-making. He even consulted PM Modi on various issues during his tenure, from administration to party matters. Under Deb’s leadership, the BJP broke the 25-year rule of the CPI(M)-led Left Front in Tripura, marking the party’s first win in the state. However, Deb stepped down as Chief Minister on May 14, 2022, following directions from BJP’s central leadership. Manik Saha took over and led the BJP-led coalition to victory again in the March 2023 Tripura Assembly elections.

This story comes just a day before PM Modi’s 75th birthday on Wednesday. As part of the ongoing ‘My Modi Story’ campaign, several ministers and senior BJP leaders have been sharing personal tales of Modi’s innovative ideas, discipline, and dedication to values.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, a former dental surgeon who turned to politics, calls PM Modi his political guru. In recent speeches at government and public events, Saha praised Modi’s charismatic leadership and his role in people’s welfare and India’s development. “PM Narendra Modi is my only inspiration to join the BJP and active politics,” Saha said earlier. “If anyone asks who my political guru is, I’ll say it’s him. I entered politics watching him and always seek his blessings.”

These anecdotes show how PM Modi’s guidance continues to inspire leaders in Tripura and beyond, fueling positive changes in politics and governance.
