Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrapped up his Patna roadshow on Sunday evening, pulling in huge crowds before concluding at Bakarganj.
The motorcade snaked through Dinkar Golambar, Nala Road, Bari Path and Thakurbadi Road, with the prime minister aboard a flower‑decked car. He was joined by Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) and Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal.
Listeners from rooftops cheered and some women performed Aarti as Modi’s convoy crossed the streets. Supporters shouted “Modi‑Modi” and chanted slogans. Alongside him were key NDA leaders – Ravi Shankar Prasad, Ram Kripal Yadav, MLA Nitin Nabin and other Patna‑city candidates. After the roadshow, Modi was scheduled to visit Takht Shri Harimandir Gurudwara in Patna City for prayers.
The rally came at a time of fierce competition ahead of the Bihar polls. BJP workers said seeing senior alliance leaders together sent a clear message of unity. Political observers expect the visit to boost the NDA’s support in Patna’s key areas.
Security details were tight: police cordoned off the route, traffic was rerouted and security teams were stationed at main intersections to keep the event safe.
Earlier on Sunday, Modi addressed a public meeting at Kunti Nagar in Nawada. He launched a sharp criticism of RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, calling him a “Prince of jungle raj,” and also struck at Congress leaders, especially Rahul Gandhi. Modi said “Jungle Raj” in Bihar was a period of guns, extortion and fear, and that the NDA government had ended it. He warned voters not to let the RJD‑Congress alliance return to power and highlighted the internal rift between the two parties.
In his speech, Modi repeated the jungle‑raj narrative, said that after the election Congress and RJD would blame each other over seat‑sharing, and accused the opposition of appeasing “infiltrators” in Bihar. He brought up a past kitty‑scandal and urged people not to be fooled by opposition tricks.
The prime minister also painted a picture of a “Developed Bihar – Developed India.” He talked about new factories that would keep youth in the state, and how living conditions had improved since power cuts were fixed. He asked the crowd to raise mobile lights and sang the “Bihar of Light” slogan.
Modi noted that women in Nawada had received a Rs 2 crore grant for the “Jeevika Didi” scheme. He praised the NDA for working toward a modern Bihar. Although most local NDA candidates were on stage, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was not in attendance.
During his address, Modi spoke about the potential of districts like Nawada, Gaya, Nalanda, Aurangabad, Jehanabad and Arwal. He invoked the legacy of figures such as Bihar Kesari Shri Krishna Singh, J.P. Narayan and Bhola Singh, urging the state to revive the ancient pride of Magadh and become a global hub of knowledge and science.
