New Delhi, Oct 24 – The Prime Minister’s visit to Bihar on Friday was welcomed by JD(U) national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad, who said Modi’s trips consistently bring “prosperity and progress” to the state.
Speaking in Patna, Prasad praised Modi for transforming Bihar over the last eleven years, arguing the leader has handed the state what “Congress failed to deliver in six decades after Independence.”
He highlighted that more than Rs 1.85 lakh crore in projects—expressways, highways, flood‑control infrastructure—are now under construction. “These initiatives are giving Bihar’s economy a significant jump,” Prasad noted.
The JD(U) spokesperson said the NDA’s goal is to make Bihar one of India’s top ten developed states by 2030, adding, “We will reach this target by 2025‑30.”
When asked about the Mahagathbandhan’s candidates for chief minister and deputy chief minister, Prasad dismissed the opposition’s challenge, saying their doubts reflect a fear of losing voter support. He defended longtime Bihar leader Nitish Kumar, noting that for 20 years the public has seen him as honest, clean, and capable, and that he has never faced corruption charges.
In contrast, Prasad pointed to Tejashwi Yadav of the RJD, accusing him of multiple corruption cases, including the IRCTC and “land for job” incidents. “There is no chance of the RJD or Mahagathbandhan returning to power,” he said, “The NDA stands united behind Nitish Kumar.”
Asked whether Nitish Kumar would remain chief minister if the NDA regained power, Prasad confirmed, “Yes, he is the undisputed leader of the NDA in Bihar, and all alliance partners stand firmly with him.”
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi delivered a strong message to the youth at a rally in Begusarai, urging them to vote wisely for a prosperous and Viksit Bihar. Modi also criticized the RJD‑Congress alliance for what he called “jungle raj” and blamed them for driving the state into darkness. He jabbed at the alliance’s internal disputes over seat‑sharing, calling them a “Mahalathbadhan” and suggesting the rivals were driven by self‑interest, not public issues.
