President Droupadi Murmu is heading to Gujarat for a three‑day tour that blends spirituality, community outreach, and education. The visit, planned for October 9‑11, will take her through some of the state’s most famous religious sites and into the heart of the country’s academic scene.
She’ll arrive in Rajkot on the evening of October 9, kicking off her Gujarat trip. From there, the President will visit key landmarks and meet people from across the region.
On Sunday, October 10, President Murmu will start with a morning darshan and Aarti at Somnath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlinga shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and a major pilgrimage destination. After the ceremony, she heads to Gir National Park, the last stronghold of the Asiatic lion. There she will talk with tribal community members, underscoring her commitment to inclusive development and cultural outreach.
The final day, Monday, has more spiritual and educational milestones. After a visit to the Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka—dedicated to Lord Krishna and a key stop on the Char Dham circuit—she will travel to Ahmedabad. There she will attend the 71st convocation of Gujarat Vidyapith, the university established by Mahatma Gandhi in 1920 to promote Indian education and values.
The President’s trip highlights her dedication to engaging with diverse groups across India. Her attendance at the convocation is expected to inspire students and educators, reinforcing the importance of value‑based learning and national service.
Gujarat officials and residents are preparing to welcome the President and are eager to showcase their heritage and hospitality. Security and logistics are being arranged to ensure a smooth, welcoming tour.
This visit blends cultural reverence, wildlife conservation, and educational encouragement, showing President Murmu’s balanced approach to leadership—honoring tradition while driving progress and inspiring the next generation.
