President Droupadi Murmu sent warm wishes on Wednesday to the Indian Air Force (IAF) on its 93rd Air Force Day, a nationwide celebration of the nation’s air warriors. She praised the air force’s courage, commitment and excellence, noting that IAF crews protect the skies and step in for humanitarian missions during disasters.
The president said the IAF “has always demonstrated courage, commitment, and excellence” and that it “serves the nation with tireless dedication.” She urged the air force to keep up the high level of readiness and strength, and wished the IAF “success in all future endeavors.” Her message was shared on X (formerly Twitter) and reached air force personnel, veterans and their families across the country.
In a highlight of this year’s celebrations, the IAF will showcase its achievements from Operation Sindoor. The Operation, which highlighted the air force’s joint capabilities and “humanitarian role,” will be featured in the parade and displays.
The static line‑up at the Hindon Air Base will include a star‑liner of modern aircraft and systems: the French-built Rafale, the twin‑engine Sukhoi Su‑30MKI, Russia’s MiG‑29, the national Netra AEW&C, the C‑17 Globemaster III, the indigenous Akash surface‑to‑air missile system, the C‑130J Hercules, Apache attack helicopters equipped with Longbow radar, and the Advanced Light Helicopter. An S‑band Rohini radar will also be on display. Retiring after more than six decades, the MiG‑21 Bison will be presented as a tribute to the aircraft’s historic service.
The parade takes place at Hindon Air Base—a key strategic hub for the Indian air force—adding to the legacy of annual Air Force Day celebrations that previously focused on Chennai in 2024 and Prayagraj in 2023. The event underscores the IAF’s growing technological edge, operational strength, and humanitarian reach, further cementing its proud role in protecting India’s skies.
