Peace Restored in Pune’s Manchar After Tunnel Discovery at Dargah Sparks Tensions
In Pune’s Manchar area, things have calmed down after a tunnel-like structure turned up under a dargah during some renovation work. Pune Rural DSP Amol Mandave shared the update on Saturday, saying the situation is now completely peaceful.
"We’ve talked to both sides involved, and they’ve assured us they’ll keep the peace," Mandave told reporters. "Our police teams are on high alert, watching everything closely. There’s no law and order issue here at all." He also urged everyone to stay calm and not fall for fake news. "Don’t believe or share rumours on social media. If you post anything wrong, we will take legal action," he warned.
The discovery of the tunnel-like structure had led to communal unrest in Manchar, a town in Pune district, Maharashtra. Tensions rose quickly, but quick police action helped bring things under control.
Separate Blast at Nagpur Factory Claims One Life, Injures 17
In other Maharashtra news, a massive explosion rocked the Solar Explosives Company near Bazargaon in Nagpur district on September 4. Officials confirmed one worker died, and 17 others got hurt in the early morning blast.
The injured workers rushed to private hospitals in Nagpur, with four in critical condition. The explosion happened at the company’s CB-1 plant. Eyewitnesses said they spotted smoke first, which tipped off senior staff. They quickly told everyone to get out, and most workers escaped just in time.
But tragedy struck for Mayur Ganvir, who was inside the plant and couldn’t make it out. The blast was so powerful that it hurled building parts meters away. Flying debris hit several workers, causing serious injuries.
Police, fire brigade, and top district officials arrived right away. They held off on rescue efforts at first to check for any secondary blasts. Once safe, teams cooled down the area and pulled out those trapped under the rubble. First aid followed, and everyone got shifted to city hospitals for treatment.
