The Border Security Force (BSF) kept a close eye on Punjab’s Tarn Taran district and stopped a new wave of cross‑border smuggling on Monday night. While sweeping the area near Naushera Dhalla village, BSF teams found a plastic bottle with a pistol slide inside. The bottle was wrapped in yellow tape and had a metal wire loop, a clear sign it had been dropped by a drone.
The next morning, the same troops were on the move again. They tracked a drone heading toward a farm field near Rajoke village and seized a packet that held 75 live 9‑mm rounds. The ammo bore stamps from the Pakistan Ordnance Factory, pointing to Pakistani‑linked smugglers planning terror‑related acts on Indian soil.
BSF’s quick action disrupted a Pakistani terror network that has been active across the border. The team’s work shows how intelligence and field teams can stop threats before they reach Indian communities.
Earlier this month, BSF and Punjab Police rolled into Gendhu Kilcha village in Ferozepur district. With intelligence from the BSF’s own wing, they caught two criminals and took away two pistols and their magazines from a backyard.
On October 1, BSF thwarted another smuggling attempt in Amritsar and Tarn Taran. Near Burj village in Amritsar, the troops seized 3.165 kg of ice‑type drug. Meanwhile, in Tarn Taran, BSF and Punjab Police found a DJI Mavic 4 Pro drone carrying 580 g of heroin in a field near Dal village.
These operations show the BSF’s and Punjab Police’s steady resolve to secure India’s borders and fight terrorism. Investigations continue to uncover any broader criminal or terror links behind these smuggling failures.
