In Ferozepur district, Punjab, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police teamed up for a sharp raid on Thursday. They caught two criminals hiding in the backyard of a house in Gendhu Kilcha village. Officers recovered two pistols and their magazines during the bust.
The action came straight from solid tips provided by the BSF’s intelligence team. This joint effort highlights how BSF and Punjab Police stay committed to guarding India’s borders and fighting terrorism. Their quick moves help keep the peace in this key region.
Investigators are now digging deeper to uncover any links to bigger criminal or terror networks.
Just a day earlier, on Wednesday, BSF troops struck again against drug smuggling along the Punjab border. In Amritsar and Tarn Taran districts, they stopped attempts to sneak in illegal goods. Near Burj village in Amritsar, a search turned up 3.165 kilograms of ICE drugs—a major hit to cross-border narco-terrorism.
The BSF’s Punjab Frontier shared details on X, praising their alert teams. In Tarn Taran, BSF worked with Punjab Police to grab a DJI Mavic 4 Pro drone loaded with 580 grams of heroin from a field near Dal village. The intel behind that find came from BSF sources too.
These weren’t isolated wins. Earlier operations in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, and Ferozepur nabbed three smugglers and seized more heroin plus another drone along the Punjab border.
One standout catch: BSF arrested a suspected smuggler near Kalsian village in Tarn Taran, who had 560 grams of heroin.
Looking back to September, BSF and Punjab Police shut down a big smuggling plot on the Gurdaspur border. They seized a large haul of heroin and arrested four narco-smugglers, dealing another blow to drug traffickers in the area.
