Rajasthan Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) pulled off a major win by nabbing Omveer Poswal, a key suspect in a brutal murder attempt case. This fugitive had been on the run, and authorities had even put up a Rs 10,000 reward for tips leading to his arrest.
The operation kicked off under the sharp guidance of Additional Director General of Police (Crime & AGTF), Dinesh MN. He launched a special drive to hunt down long-time absconders and wanted criminals across the state. DIG Deepak Bhargava oversaw the effort, while ASP Siddhant Sharma led the ground team.
Thanks to solid intelligence on Poswal’s movements, the AGTF sprang into action. Head Constable Jugan Singh and Constable Surendra Kumar zeroed in on him at the Singhana Bus Stand in Jhunjhunu district. They swooped in and caught him without a hitch.
Flashback to the crime: On May 18, a gang of armed attackers ambushed Anil Kumar and his friend Sachin near Jaipur’s Triveni intersection. The victims were driving when the group struck. Anil took severe axe blows to the head, and Sachin ended up with a broken hand. The thugs also smashed up their car and snatched Rs 15,000 in cash.
Anil Kumar filed a complaint at Shiprapath Police Station, sparking a case under sections for attempted murder, robbery, and vandalism. Cops pegged Omveer Poswal as the ringleader, heading a gang of 15-20 people in the violent raid.
ADG Dinesh MN shared that the tip-off revealed Poswal heading from Behror to Singhana in Jhunjhunu. The team used tech surveillance to confirm his spot and rushed there. A joint squad from AGTF and Shiprapath’s Constable Rajveer Singh set up at the bus stand for a smooth takedown.
ASP Siddhant Sharma commanded the mission, with standout work from Head Constable Jugan Singh, Constable Surendra Kumar, and Constable Rajveer Singh. It’s a team effort that paid off big.
Rajasthan Police officials stressed their zero-tolerance stance on organized crime. They vow to keep tracking down fugitives like Poswal to deliver justice and make streets safer for everyone.
