Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma kicked off the Co-operative Membership Campaign on Thursday at the Constitution Club in Jaipur. This move aims to boost cooperative efforts across the state, drawing in farmers and women from rural areas.
During the event, Sharma handed out certificates to new Village Service Cooperative Societies. He also gave land allotment certificates to landless ones, helping them get a solid start. To top it off, the Cooperative Department presented symbolic cheques for dividend amounts from Apex and Confed bodies, showing real support for these groups.
Joining Sharma were Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Zoraram Kumawat, Minister of State for Cooperation Gautam Kumar Dak, top officials, and crowds of women and farmers. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as everyone celebrated these steps toward stronger cooperatives in Rajasthan.
Just a couple of weeks earlier, on September 19, Sharma highlighted another win for the state at the Rajasthan Police passing-out parade. He pointed out a sharp drop in the crime rate, crediting better policing and community efforts.
In his speech, Sharma shared key numbers: The overall crime rate in Rajasthan fell to 19.45% from 2013 to 2025. And in the latest year, from 2024 to 2025, it dropped even more to 13.9%. “The crime rate in our country is falling rapidly,” he said.
Breaking it down further, crimes against Scheduled Castes decreased by 70%, those against Scheduled Tribes by 18.7%, and crimes against women by 9.24%. These improvements signal positive changes in public safety across Rajasthan.
