Tragic Jaipur Road Accident Claims Seven Lives, Including Two Children
In a heartbreaking incident in Jaipur, Rajasthan, seven members of a single family lost their lives when their car plunged into a waterlogged underpass. The tragedy unfolded on the Ring Road in the Shivdaspura area, leaving the community in shock.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma shared his grief over the Jaipur road accident on X (formerly Twitter). He called the news "extremely heartbreaking and heart-rending" and extended his condolences to the bereaved family. "My prayers are with the departed souls. May the Lord grant them peace at His divine feet," he posted, urging support for the grieving relatives.
Echoing the CM’s sentiments, Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Tika Ram Jully also expressed deep sorrow. In his X post, he described the loss of seven family members in the Prahladpura, Shivdaspura car accident as "tragic and painful." He offered condolences and prayed for peace to the souls and strength to the family to endure this unbearable loss. "Om Shanti," he concluded.
The victims were returning from Haridwar, where they had gone to immerse the ashes of a family member’s father who passed away recently. According to police, the group included three men, two women, and two children. They hailed from Phuliyavas in Kekri and the Vatika area in Jaipur.
The accident happened around 12:30 pm when a passerby spotted the half-submerged car in the underpass near Prahladpuri and alerted the authorities. Jaipur South Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) confirmed that police rushed to the scene and found all seven trapped inside the vehicle. "The car seems to have lost control due to overspeeding amid heavy waterlogging, leading to the fatal plunge," the DCP told reporters.
Rescue teams used a crane to pull out the car from the drain. The bodies were recovered and taken to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital’s mortuary for postmortem. Relatives have been informed, and investigations point to waterlogging as a key factor in the Jaipur car accident.
The deceased have been identified as Ramraj Vaishnav, his wife Madhu, their sons Rudra and Rohit, relative Kaluram, his wife Seema, and another family member Gajraj. This devastating road accident in Rajasthan highlights the dangers of waterlogged roads during monsoons, and authorities are now probing further to prevent such tragedies.
