Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma kicked off celebrations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday with a big focus on service and cleanliness. On September 17, he led the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ campaign across the state, turning the day into a hands-on drive for community good.
In Jaipur, Sharma launched the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan’ at City Park in Mansarovar. He rolled up his sleeves, joined locals to clean the park, and planted saplings to promote environmental protection. “Cleanliness should be our way of life, not just a one-time task,” he told the crowd while leading the ‘Swachhata Pledge’. His message? Everyone must pitch in to build a Swachh Bharat – a clean India.
Sharma didn’t stop there. He unveiled Rajasthan’s new Sewerage Policy to boost urban sanitation and better sewer management. To honor sanitation workers – the real heroes of public health – he handed out PPP kits. He also celebrated welfare scheme beneficiaries, highlighting the government’s push for empowerment.
Adding a personal touch inspired by PM Modi’s humble roots, Sharma visited a roadside tea stall on Shiprapath in Mansarovar. He brewed tea himself, served it to surprised onlookers, and chatted with people over a cup. To top it off, he paid digitally via UPI, showing how the government wants to spread digital transactions even at street level.
During the visit, Sharma instructed the local councillor to connect tea vendors and cart owners with the PM Swanidhi Yojana. This scheme offers financial help and stability to street vendors, helping them grow their small businesses.
The birthday vibes spread statewide with cleanliness drives, tree plantation events, and welfare activities under ‘Seva Pakhwada’. Sharma made it clear: Honoring PM Modi’s 75th birthday means more than wishes – it’s about living his ideals of service, cleanliness, and community upliftment.
