Jaipur, Oct 25 – Police chiefs in Rajasthan gathered Saturday at the state police headquarters in Jaipur to hammer in a tougher stance against criminal gangs that operate across the state. The meeting, led by Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Kumar Sharma, brought together senior officers from districts hit hardest by organised crime, including superintendents, range inspectors and heads of special units.
The main goal was simple: spot the active gangs, break up their networks, and get the law moving fast. DGP Sharma repeated that the Rajasthan Police follow a zero‑tolerance policy for organised crime. “We must scare criminals and keep the public safe. Every officer must do their best,” he told the room. He reminded everyone that the police will not focus on a single criminal, but will take out entire criminal networks involved in threats, extortion and intimidation.
Sharma ordered the police to drive hard against gang members under Section 111 of the Criminal Procedure Code. That includes seizing the property and financial assets of gang bosses and anyone who supports or promotes gang activity, even on social media. He urged that arrests in pending cases— such as firing, murder and other threats—be given top priority, and that district units file charge sheets quickly.
The meeting also covered cases that have been pending for too long. DGP Sharma asked district teams to track down absconding criminals and to analyse threat‑related complaints from all areas. “The police will not tolerate any atmosphere of fear or threats created by criminals,” he said.
Senior officers presented detailed action plans. ADG (AGTF) Dinesh M.N. laid out a framework to identify gang members and map their activities. ADG Biju George Joseph emphasized systematic tracking and catching every criminal. ADG (Crime Branch) Hawa Singh gave strategies for pursuing old cases and dismantling gang networks. Jaipur Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal stressed the need to keep and share accurate criminal records for coordinated action.
The session ended with a brief PowerPoint presentation that summarized gang‑related activities, trends in extortion and threats across all districts.
This coordinated push from Rajasthan Police aims to rid the state of organised crime and restore public confidence in safety. The report is sourced from .
