Rajasthan Gears Up for First-Ever Ghoomar Festival 2025 in Jaipur
Rajasthan is all set to celebrate its vibrant folk culture with the inaugural Ghoomar Festival 2025, happening in Jaipur on November 15. This exciting event, launched by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, spotlights the state’s rich traditions while boosting women’s empowerment on national and global stages.
District Collector Jitendra Kumar Soni led a key review meeting on Thursday at the District Collectorate. Held under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism, Art & Culture Minister Diya Kumari, the meeting focused on smooth preparations. Soni urged officials to pull out all stops for top-notch arrangements, turning the festival into a dazzling showcase of Rajasthan’s heritage.
Joint Director of Tourism Punita Singh shared that the Ghoomar Festival will honor folk heritage and send a powerful message on women’s empowerment. Deputy Director Upendra Singh Shekhawat revealed potential venues like Chitrakoot Stadium, Polo Ground, and Bhawani Niketan College Ground.
Want to join in? Online registrations kick off on September 15 via the Tourism Department’s portal. Groups of up to 20 participants can sign up together, and registered organizations snag a Rs 500 incentive. The department plans to drop an official festival song and host workshops from November 9 to 13 to get everyone pumped.
Shekhawat added that the Tourism Department handles tents, lighting, sound systems, decorations, and full photo-video coverage. They’ll also sort traffic for school and college groups. Municipal Corporation, PHED, and JVNl step in with essentials like water, sanitation, electricity, and toilets. Expect a strong police presence, medical teams, and emergency services on site. Plus, food stalls, souvenir shops, and more will keep the vibe lively. A special jury will keep things running smoothly with ongoing checks.
The District Collector called for teamwork across departments to make this historic Ghoomar Festival a massive hit, elevating Rajasthan’s culture to new levels.
The meeting saw participation from Additional District Collector Mukesh Kumar Mund, plus reps from police, PWD, PHED, Municipal Corporation, JVNl, Rotary Club, Lions Club, NGOs, voluntary groups, schools, and anchor Preeti Saxena.
