Jaipur welcomed the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohanrao Bhagwat, on Wednesday night as part of the organization’s 100‑year celebrations. He will remain in the city through November 16, taking part in a series of talks, meetings and a book launch.
During his four‑day visit, Bhagwat will attend programs that highlight the RSS’s national and global agenda. On November 15 at 5:30 p.m. he will speak at the SMS Indoor Stadium in Jaipur about the “Current Global Scenario and Integral Human Philosophy.” The talk is organized by the Integral Human Philosophy Research and Development Foundation.
The following day, the RSS will unveil a commemorative book, Aur Yeh Jeevan Samarpit, which celebrates the lives and work of late RSS preachers from Rajasthan. The launch will take place at Pathey Bhawan in Malviya Nagar, and the book was published by Gyan Ganga Prakashan in Jaipur.
While in Jaipur, Bhagwat will meet with RSS workers from local branches, or “shakhas.” The meetings will be informal, giving volunteers a chance to share thoughts and ask questions.
Bhagwat also addressed broader questions about the RSS’s openness. Speaking earlier in Bengaluru during a two‑day lecture series titled “100 Years of Sangh Journey: New Horizons,” he said the Sangh welcomes people from all communities—including Muslims and Christians—provided they view themselves as “sons of Bharat Mata” and commit to the wider Hindu society.
“I will not invite Brahmin or other caste outside our society, no Muslim, no Christian,” Bhagwat said, clarifying that the RSS retains its distinct cultural identity. “If you come into a shakh, you come as a son of Bharat Mata, a member of this Hindu society. We are all sons of Bharat Mata. That is how the Sangh works.”
The RSS emphasizes unity and inclusivity through a shared national identity. Its local shakhas host volunteers from many backgrounds, but the organization maintains its core identity as a Hindu nationalist movement.
As the centenary celebrations unfold, Jaipur will see the RSS chief engage with forums on philosophy, history and community service, reinforcing the organization’s long‑standing role in India’s cultural and political landscape.
