Rajasthan: Steady decline in crime over last two years, claims police

Rajasthan’s crime rates have dropped steadily over the past two years, thanks to the Rajasthan Police’s focus on transparency and quick action on complaints. Officials point to this as proof that their straightforward approach to law enforcement is working well.

Recent data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) covers 2021 through 2023, but Rajasthan’s numbers show even bigger improvements in 2024 and 2025. For instance, crimes against women fell from 45,450 cases in 2023 to 36,563 in 2024. Cases against Scheduled Tribes dropped from 8,449 to 7,008, while those against Scheduled Castes went down from 2,453 to 2,282.

Economic crimes saw a small dip, from 27,675 to 27,637 cases, according to police headquarters. Overall, total registered cases under IPC and BNS plunged from 234,985 to 213,352. That adds up to a 19.45% decrease in total crime across the state in just two years.

Crimes against women specifically declined by 9.24%, highlighting how the Rajasthan Police has stepped up with better response times, community outreach, and faster investigations to boost women’s safety.

This progress is building stronger trust among residents and shows the real results from government and police efforts. The force’s policy of handling crime reports openly and fairly has led to more accurate tracking and quicker resolutions.

Technology plays a big role too, with more surveillance cameras and constant monitoring helping keep crime in check. The Rajasthan Police stays committed to a people-first model that puts the safety of everyone—especially women and vulnerable groups—like Scheduled Castes and Tribes—at the top of the list.

Looking ahead, the state government aims to build an even stronger law and order system, making Rajasthan a leader in public safety and good governance.
