Ravi Shankar Prasad recalls PM Modi’s resilience, vision and leadership on his birthday

Just a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad opened up about his experiences working with the PM. In a heartfelt video shared on X under the ‘My Modi Story’ series, Prasad called Modi a “unique personality” whose patriotism and drive to build a stronger India keep inspiring everyone.

Prasad shared how, early in his national politics days, Modi jumped into TV debates to champion the BJP’s vision and India’s pride. “I learned so much from him and used those lessons in my own debates,” Prasad recalled with a smile.

He also highlighted Modi’s sharp organizational skills back when Murli Manohar Joshi led the BJP. Prasad remembered a key trip to Srinagar where Modi stepped up as the main organizer, making everything run smoothly.

When Modi became Gujarat’s Chief Minister, his leadership shone brightest after the tragic 2001 Bhuj earthquake. “He turned Bhuj’s story from devastation to one of resilience and growth,” Prasad said, praising how Modi rebuilt the region.

Even during the tough times of the Godhra riots and the intense political backlash that followed, Modi stayed calm under fire. Prasad, who defended him in several Supreme Court cases, noted the pressure from Congress, Left parties, and even some biased views in the judiciary. “But Modi’s patience and inner strength never shook. Today, the Supreme Court has cleared him in all those cases, and the people of India keep voting for him time and again.”

Prasad didn’t hold back on Modi’s big national pushes either. He lauded initiatives like Digital India, Make in India, and Startup India as “game-changing reforms” that have transformed India’s economy and opportunities for millions.

“Working closely with him has been my greatest privilege—his journey inspires me every day,” Prasad added warmly.

On a similar note, retired IPS officer and former Lt Governor of Puducherry Kiren Bedi also extended her birthday wishes to PM Modi on X. “Happy Birthday, Respected Sir. Wishing you a healthy, energetic, and productive life serving the nation,” she posted.

These personal tributes show how Modi’s leadership continues to resonate across India’s political and public circles.
