BJP Leader Slams Congress Over Internal Drama in Madhya Pradesh
In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh’s Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang, a top BJP figure, took a sharp dig at the Congress party. He called Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Sangathan Srijan’ initiative a total flop, pointing to fresh infighting that’s shaking up the party’s state leadership.
Sarang’s comments hit right after senior Congress leader Kamleshwar Patel openly questioned the Madhya Pradesh Congress in-charge Harish Choudhary and state unit chief Jitu Patwari. "Even a veteran like Kamleshwar Patel is calling out the state leadership. This shows Rahul Gandhi’s Sangathan Srijan has failed badly in Madhya Pradesh, and the Congress is crumbling," Sarang said with a smirk.
The BJP leader didn’t stop there. He claimed several Congress bigwigs are now eyeing the chief minister’s chair ahead of the 2028 Assembly elections. "Leaders like Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar and others are racing to position themselves as CM candidates. The public has lost trust in Congress, and even their own leaders don’t believe in the top brass anymore," he added.
This row kicked off on Monday when former MLA Kamleshwar Patel voiced his frustration over rising factionalism in the Madhya Pradesh Congress. He straight-up blamed Harish Choudhary for not bridging gaps between senior leaders and accused him of playing favorites. At a press conference, Patel stressed that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi had handed them a major responsibility. "Politics always has its differences, but I urge Harish Choudhary and Jitu Patwari to unite everyone. The party put you in charge of the state unit for a reason," Patel said.
So far, the state Congress leadership has stayed mum on Patel’s charges. Interestingly, Jitu Patwari and Umang Singhar are set to join a public meeting in Rewa—Patel’s home turf in the Rewa division—on Tuesday and Wednesday. Will this patch things up, or is more Congress turmoil in Madhya Pradesh on the horizon?
