As tensions rise ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) grapples with a family feud involving leader Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter, Rohini Acharya. The same Rohini who donated a kidney to her father in 2022 has now vented her frustrations on social media, stirring up buzz about cracks in the party’s leadership.
In a fiery post on Friday, Rohini made it clear: “I’ve done my duty as a daughter and sister, and I’ll keep doing it. I want no position or political role—my self-respect comes first.” This follows an earlier message where she subtly criticized Tejashwi Yadav’s close advisor, Sanjay Yadav, pointing to power struggles inside the RJD.
Her words have ignited fresh speculation about divisions in the influential Yadav family and the party’s inner workings, especially with elections looming in Bihar.
Political rivals wasted no time weighing in. JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar put it bluntly: “Rohini donated a kidney for her dad—she’s voicing her brother’s political frustrations on Twitter. Lalu, as family head, needs to sort out who’s right and who’s stirring trouble.”
LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Rajesh Verma took a more measured approach, praising her: “No question, she stepped up as a daughter during her father’s health crisis. I respect that fully and have no issues with her.”
HAM (Secular) MLA Deepa Manjhi brushed it off as a private affair. “This is just their family drama—it’s no surprise. Lalu’s eldest son already lives apart, skips family events, and barely connects. Totally personal stuff,” she added.
So far, the RJD has stayed silent on the matter, leaving everyone guessing about how this family rift might play out in Bihar politics.
