Ahmedabad, Oct 26 – Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel stepped onto the ancient sacred ground of Gozariya village in Mehsana district to attend the “Shatchandi Mahayagna.” The state’s top leader used the occasion to link science, faith, and development while ringing in the new year of Vikram Samvat 2082.
Patel told a crowd of devotees, “When science follows faith, we can reach any goal we set.” He echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of “progress while preserving heritage,” stressing that a modern Gujarat must keep its cultural roots alive. The chief minister celebrated the village’s spirit, calling Gozariya “a place that doesn’t just finish its own work but also helps others succeed.”
The Mahayagna was organised by the Shri Umiya Mataji Mandir Trust and the Patidar community. Patel also pointed to the recent consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, noting how it has energized India’s spiritual life. He added that Gujarat can be the engine of a stronger India, outlining state plans that aim to touch every village and citizen.
To boost the economy, Patel highlighted Gujarat’s new “Vibrant Conferences.” The first one in North Gujarat attracted more than ₹3 lakh crore in investment commitments and over 1,200 memoranda of understanding, the chief minister said proudly.
During his speech, Patel urged residents of Gozariya to set fresh resolutions for the year and prayed to Goddess Umiya Mata for their success. He also thanked the donors who helped bring the Mahayagna to life.
The event drew several local leaders. Mehsana MLA Mukesh Patel, the district bank chairman Vinod Patel, Collector S.K. Prajapati, as well as members of the Umiya Mataji Mandir Trust and Patidar community heads, joined the ceremony.
MP Haribhai Patel, speaking after the event, said that maintaining religious traditions helps instill values in young people. He said true progress includes “roads and infrastructure as well as spirituality and cultural values.”
Rajya Sabha member Mayank Nayak praised the Mahayagna for reconnecting the youth with Sanatan Dharma in a world dominated by technology and AI. He pledged ongoing support for Gozariya’s continued development.
Patel’s message – faith fuels science, tradition supports growth – struck a chord with many, underscoring Gujarat’s role as a cultural and economic leader in India.
