India’s thrilling victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup final has sparked massive celebrations across the country, but it’s also ignited a political firestorm. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday slammed the Opposition, especially the Congress party, for staying silent and not congratulating Team India on their big win.

In a nail-biting match at Dubai International Stadium, India chased down the target to secure a five-wicket victory, grabbing their ninth Asia Cup title. The intense India-Pakistan rivalry delivered edge-of-your-seat action, with fans everywhere erupting in joy—from city streets filled with chants and fireworks to villages buzzing with excitement. Social media lit up with jubilant posts, capturing the nation’s pride in this cricket triumph.

Yet, amid the festivities, BJP leaders accused Congress of holding a “negative mindset” and refusing to join the party. Speaking to , BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain praised the players’ performance and highlighted their decision to skip receiving the trophy from a Pakistani minister. “Our team crushed Pakistan in such a tough game,” he said. “They’ve shown India beats Pakistan in every arena. The Opposition should drop the criticism and celebrate this historic win with the nation.”

Echoing the sentiment, BJP’s Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi took a sharper dig at Congress. “Whenever Pakistan hurts, the cries come from the Congress camp,” he told . “Are they with our players or with Pakistani terrorists? Our team did an outstanding job on the field—now even that’s under question. Time to change that attitude.”

Bihar Minister Nitin Nabin chimed in with his own congratulations, drawing a parallel to military success. “Today felt like another Operation Sindoor,” he said to , referring to past victories over Pakistan. “Just as our forces triumphed, our cricketers dominated on the pitch.”

The BJP insists the Opposition should set aside politics and honor Team India’s achievement, which has brought immense joy and unity to millions of Indians. As cricket fans revel in the glory of this India vs Pakistan showdown, the call for national celebration grows louder.
