Samajwadi Party’s ST Hasan Slams Ramabhadracharya Over ‘Mini Pakistan’ Remark on Western UP
In a sharp response to spiritual leader Ramabhadracharya’s controversial comment labeling Western Uttar Pradesh as a "Mini Pakistan," senior Samajwadi Party leader ST Hasan hit back hard. Speaking to in Moradabad on September 13, Hasan quipped, "If they don’t make such statements, how will their spiritual shop run?" His words highlight the growing tension around divisive remarks in Uttar Pradesh politics.
Hasan didn’t hold back, accusing Ramabhadracharya of stirring up fear and splitting communities just to help a particular political party. "Hindus and Muslims in Western UP live like brothers," he said. "They support each other through joys and sorrows. These inflammatory statements only aim to polarize people and keep that so-called spiritual business going."
Taking aim at the popular narrative that "Hindus are in danger," Hasan pointed out the reality. "The government, army, police, and all major resources are run by Hindus. So how does that narrative even hold up?" He questioned the true intentions of those spreading such ideas, adding, "Muslims trust in Allah and live peacefully alongside their Hindu neighbors. But can people who divide society for votes or personal gain really call themselves religious?"
Hasan called the "Mini Pakistan" label a sneaky way to brand Muslims as terrorists, which he described as dangerous and completely unacceptable. He urged the spiritual leader to think twice before speaking. "We all know the history of Pakistan’s creation. Comparing Indian Muslims or any part of India to Pakistan insults our nation’s unity. These words just spread hate and tear at our social bonds."
Praising the respect Ramabhadracharya enjoys across India, Hasan reminded him of his responsibility. "This country belongs to everyone, and every citizen has the right to live here peacefully," he stressed. He warned that such hate-filled statements hurt everyone—from kids to the elderly—and offer no real gains, only damage.
In the end, Hasan cautioned that creating fear helps only those chasing political or personal profits. "But society pays the price in the long run," he added, calling for unity over division in Uttar Pradesh’s diverse communities.
