Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Pushes for Faster Development in South Delhi
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta held a key review meeting on Friday with the South Delhi Lok Sabha MP, MLAs, and councillors. She gave clear instructions to speed up all pending development projects in the area, focusing on making life better for residents.
During the meeting, Gupta appointed Delhi Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa as the Minister-in-Charge for South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. This move aims to boost progress on local works and ensure quick action.
Gupta stressed the need to fix basic civic issues right away. She highlighted problems like water supply, sewerage systems, drains, lanes, roads, and parks. "These everyday concerns must get top priority," she said, urging everyone to act fast.
She directed all departmental officers to prepare a detailed progress report on pending projects within one week. They must upload it to the Chief Minister’s e-portal for easy tracking. This step will help monitor Delhi development projects more effectively and cut down delays.
Gupta also shared good news on funding. In almost every assembly constituency, the Delhi government has allocated Rs 10 to Rs 16 crore for the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB). From now on, all related works will go through the e-file system to make things smoother and more transparent.
The meeting saw attendance from South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, several MLAs, councillors, and top officials from key departments. They discussed ongoing Delhi development projects, public issues, and solutions in detail. Gupta gave straightforward directions to officials and elected leaders.
"No more delays or excuses on development in the capital," Gupta warned. She made it clear that all projects must follow a strict Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for uniform execution. She pushed for better coordination between the MP, MLAs, and councillors to ensure nothing gets missed.
Gupta assured everyone that the government won’t block any proposals from elected representatives. "We will prioritize every essential project," she added, showing commitment to public needs.
In another update, the CM announced Seva Pakhwada, a Fortnight of Service from September 17 to October 2. This initiative celebrates Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday with health camps, donation drives, and cleanliness campaigns across Delhi. It’s a great way to serve the community and improve urban living.
On Thursday, Gupta took charge as Minister-in-Charge for Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency. She reviewed development works and pending projects there, diving deep into local challenges. The talks focused on tackling encroachments and traffic congestion in various assembly areas, aiming for practical fixes to ease daily life.
