India’s cricket team celebrated a thrilling five-wicket victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final, clinching their second T20I title and ninth overall. The win sparked celebrations across the country, with politicians joining in to praise the unbeaten squad.

Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at Pakistan. Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s playful remark about “Operation Sindoor on the games field,” Mandaviya posted on X: “Lost on the border, lost in the field too.” His comment highlighted the rivalry beyond the pitch.

Former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also shared his excitement. “Congratulate Indian Cricket Team on their spectacular win over Pakistan in the nail-biting Asia Cup Final to lift the cup,” he wrote on X. “The team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament with their all-round performance. May the team continue its winning momentum to bring laurels for the country. Best wishes.”

The match in Dubai kept fans on the edge of their seats. India captain won the toss and chose to field first. Pakistan started strong with an 84-run opening stand between Sahibzada Farhan (57 off 38 balls, including four fours and three sixes) and Fakhar Zaman (46 off 35 balls, with two fours and two sixes). But India’s spinners turned the game around. Kuldeep Yadav took 4 wickets for 30 runs, Varun Chakaravarthy claimed 2 for 30, and Jasprit Bumrah wrapped up with 2 for 25. Pakistan crumbled from 113 for 1 to 146 all out in 19.1 overs.

Chasing 147, India faced early trouble, slumping to 20 for 3 after Faheem Ashraf’s burst of 3 for 29. But Tilak Varma starred with an unbeaten 69 off 53 balls (three fours and four sixes). He built a crucial 57-run partnership with Sanju Samson (24 off 21 balls, two fours and a six), then added firepower with Shivam Dube (33 off 22 balls, two fours and two sixes). Rinku Singh sealed the deal with the winning runs, guiding India home with five balls to spare.

This Asia Cup triumph boosts India’s momentum heading into more international cricket battles. Fans are already buzzing about the team’s dominant run in the tournament.
