BJP Gears Up for Bihar Assembly Elections with Key Meeting in Patna

In Patna, Bihar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a major Core Committee meeting on Saturday to ramp up preparations for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. BJP National President JP Nadda and National Organisation General Secretary BL Santosh led the discussions with party leaders and ministers, focusing on strategies to connect with voters across the state.

Bihar BJP State President Dilip Jaiswal shared that Nadda praised the NDA government’s strong performance. "The NDA has tackled every issue head-on, and this positive work is winning over Bihar voters," Jaiswal said. The meeting reviewed ongoing NDA workers’ conferences at the assembly level and brainstormed ways to spread the government’s achievements far and wide.

Leaders talked about how to step up outreach efforts, ensuring they reach as many people as possible. They also planned to compile lists of key government projects at the regional level and share detailed info with locals. Jaiswal added that the session improved coordination between BJP leaders and NDA allies like JD(U) and LJP.

This meeting comes as part of BJP’s big push ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, expected in October or November—though the Election Commission of India hasn’t announced dates yet. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar on September 15, and the party plans a ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ from that day to mark his birthday, emphasizing service to the people.

Both Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers, along with Union Ministers Nityanand Rai and Giriraj Singh, joined the meeting, showing the NDA’s united front.

Nadda Slams RJD Over Past ‘Jungle Raj’ and Anti-Development Remarks

During a separate conclave in Patna, JP Nadda took sharp aim at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He questioned if RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav ever apologized for his father Lalu Prasad Yadav’s controversial comments on road development. Nadda recalled Lalu’s old statement: "If we build roads, the police will reach you quickly."

"Has Tejashwi said sorry to Bihar’s people for this?" Nadda asked the crowd. He called it a mindset that blocks progress, adding in Hindi, "Vo kis tareeke se soch sakte hai ki vo Bihar ka bhala krenge?" (How can they think of Bihar’s good with such views?)

Nadda painted a grim picture of Bihar under RJD rule, saying the state—once a political powerhouse—sank into "darkness" due to selfish politics, Jungle Raj, appeasement, and casteism. "We all remember Jungle Raj, but some ask us to forget it. Bihar suffered badly," he said.

NDA vs INDIA: The Battle for Bihar’s 243-Seat Assembly

The NDA, led by BJP (80 MLAs), JD(U) (45), HAM(S) (4), and two Independents, holds 131 seats in the 243-member Bihar Assembly. They aim to keep power under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

On the other side, the INDIA bloc—with RJD (77 MLAs), Congress (19), CPI(ML) (11), CPI(M) (2), and CPI (2)—totals 111 seats and wants to topple the NDA.

As Bihar Assembly elections heat up, both sides gear up for a fierce fight. Stay tuned for more updates on Bihar politics and NDA strategies.
