Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha kicked off the Namo Yuva Run in Agartala on Sunday, drawing crowds eager to join a push for a drug-free India.
Saha stressed that events like this need to happen often. They guide young people and boost the drive for a Nasha Mukt Tripura and Nasha Mukt Bharat. Talking to , he highlighted a series of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) initiatives running from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17 to Mahatma Gandhi’s on October 2. The Namo Yuva Run, organized by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), stands out as a key part of the Yuva Morcha efforts.
Under the current government, drug seizures have jumped 132% compared to the previous administration’s time. Plus, rehabilitation centers now operate in every district. Saha pointed to PM Modi’s advice: Youth need clear direction, and regular events like these can provide it.
The Namo Yuva Run took place in 75 cities, with more than 10,000 participants in each one. It runs from September 17 through October 2, covering 15 days of action. The full lineup includes blood donation camps on September 17 across 1,000 districts nationwide. From September 18 to October 2, more camps pop up at every mandal level, alongside huge cleanliness drives at schools, hospitals, railway stations, bus stands, temples, parks, riversides, and historic sites.
BJYM launched this flagship campaign on September 7, led by National President Tejasvi Surya. It aims to inspire India’s youth through fitness and social responsibility, making it one of the biggest youth-driven movements in the country’s history.
