In Chennai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin held a key review meeting on Saturday to check the progress of the popular “Ungaludan Stalin” grievance redressal camps. Officials updated him that a whopping 83% of the petitions received so far have been resolved, showing real action on people’s concerns.
Since the launch of these camps, over 14.54 lakh petitions have poured in across 46 services from 15 government departments. Out of these, 7.23 lakh got fully sorted, and another 5.97 lakh were accepted for quick follow-up. This high resolution rate highlights how the initiative is making governance more accessible for everyday folks in Tamil Nadu.
Stalin didn’t hold back during the review—he urged officials to tackle every eligible petition within the set deadlines. He stressed prioritizing issues from departments like Revenue, Cooperation, Adi Dravidar Welfare, Energy, Rural Development, and Municipal Administration. Top on his list? Fast fixes for property tax problems and drinking water shortages in cities.
Farmers won’t have to wait long either. The Chief Minister directed the Agriculture Department to speed up requests for essential inputs and machinery, ensuring timely support for their needs.
Stalin also called for swift handling of common requests, like updating addresses on ration cards and transferring ‘patta’ land documents. He made it clear that petitions from persons with disabilities deserve extra care and priority attention.
On the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam scheme, he pushed for immediate field verifications to avoid any delays. Community needs got a big shoutout too—things like installing street lights, building link roads, and providing clean drinking water should jump to the top of the list.
To keep things on track, Stalin instructed department secretaries and district collectors to hold regular review meetings under the Chief Secretary’s watch. He also wants better awareness campaigns to spread the word about these grievance redressal camps.
Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam joined senior officials and department heads at the Secretariat meeting. Launched to bring the government closer to the people, the “Ungaludan Stalin” camps are proving to be a game-changer, helping citizens voice their issues and get real solutions from the Tamil Nadu administration.
