Tej Pratap Yadav, son of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and a former Bihar minister, sharply criticized supporters who hurled abusive language at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an RJD public rally on Sunday. The event in Bihar reportedly drew a crowd that included his brother, Tejashwi Yadav, and marked the second such incident targeting the PM.
Talking to reporters, Tej Pratap condemned the growing trend of name-calling at RJD rallies. He called for immediate action against the culprits, insisting they face justice and end up behind bars. “If nothing happens, my party, Janshakti Janata Dal, will start a movement right here in Mahua,” he warned.
The controversy escalated when Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai posted a video online. It appeared to capture the abusive remarks directed at Modi while Tejashwi was present. Rai fired back at Tejashwi and the RJD, saying, “The people of India and Bihar are watching closely. You’ll get a strong reply soon. Messing with the feelings of 140 million Biharis will hit you hard—things have gone too far.”
Tej Pratap doubled down, demanding tough measures against anyone insulting the Prime Minister or his mother. He stressed that abusing mothers is unacceptable, no matter who they are. “A mother carries her child for nine months—insulting her is wrong. File an FIR and send them straight to jail,” he told the media.
Now estranged from both the RJD and his family, Tej Pratap made it clear he’s ready to act. If the accused don’t face punishment, he plans protests through his Janshakti Janata Dal in Mahua to push for accountability in Bihar politics.
