Tejashwi Yadav, the fiery Leader of Opposition in Bihar and a top Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) figure, unleashed a sharp critique against the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) during his ongoing Bihar Adhikar Yatra in Vaishali. He slammed the NDA for widespread corruption and for weaponizing the state’s administration to target opposition leaders like himself.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Yadav painted a grim picture of Bihar under NDA rule. “The NDA has been looting Bihar for years and they’re still at it,” he said. “They’re using the administration to harass the opposition. We’ve seen hundreds of crores stashed in the homes of top officials and engineers. Corruption runs deep in Bihar—these folks have just plundered the state.”

Yadav, who once served as Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, vowed zero tolerance if the RJD regains power. “When our government forms, we won’t spare a single corrupt person or criminal, no matter who they are,” he declared. “Everyone involved will face action. Corruption has no place.”

He didn’t shy away from hitting back at critics who mocked his party’s recent campaign to distribute pens to promote education. “These are the same people handing out swords, guns, and bullets—they wouldn’t like pens,” Yadav quipped. He highlighted his past achievements, noting how his government created five lakh jobs in just 17 months. “We want Bihar to become an educated state. Educated people get jobs and opportunities. That’s why we’re putting pens—and jobs—into people’s hands. No wonder BJP folks feel the burn.” He also called out BJP ministers for allegedly assaulting journalists and hurling insults, urging Biharis to value knowledge over violence.

Yadav turned his ire toward the Election Commission of India and the BJP, accusing them of rigging the last polls through “vote chori” and even stealing seats. “Everyone knows what happened last time—the government was already in the bag for them,” he said. “But this time, we won’t let any dishonesty slide. We’ll form the government fair and square.”

Citing what he called “abundant evidence,” Yadav claimed the Election Commission acts as a BJP puppet. He pointed to a controversial incident in Chandigarh where CCTV footage was seized, only for the EC to shut it down citing privacy concerns. “What nonsense is that? People saw with their own eyes how the EC helps the BJP. It’s basically their cell now.”

As Bihar gears up for state elections later this year, the Mahagathbandhan alliance—led by the Congress and RJD—aims to topple the NDA, which includes the BJP and Janata Dal (United) or JD(U). On seat-sharing talks within his coalition, Yadav kept it brief: “Everything’s almost finalized. The announcement comes soon.” With tensions high, Bihar’s political battle promises to be a fierce one over corruption, jobs, and fair elections.
