Tejashwi Yadav claims huge support for Bihar Adhikar Yatra

Tejashwi Yadav’s Bihar Adhikar Yatra Draws Massive Crowds on Day 2

Tejashwi Yadav’s Bihar Adhikar Yatra is turning heads in Patna, with thousands of supporters flooding the streets. On the second day of the march, the RJD leader shared how people are fed up with the current Bihar government, pointing to rising corruption, extortion in government offices and police stations, and a spike in crime that makes folks feel unsafe even at home.

"Today marks the second day of the yatra," Yadav told reporters. "Wherever we go, thousands come out to back this march." He added, "The whole of Bihar is angry with the government. Corruption and extortion have shot up in block offices and police stations. Crime is so bad now that people don’t feel safe in their own homes."

The yatra kicked off on Tuesday from Jehanabad, aiming to tackle key issues like youth unemployment in Bihar, women’s rights, respect for teachers, and improvements in the health and education systems. It will wrap up on September 20 in Vaishali, covering districts like Begusarai, Khagaria, and Madhepura.

RJD MP Sanjay Yadav explained the yatra’s focus: "After Congress’s Voter Adhikar Yatra skipped some areas, our workers urged us to cover them. Tejashwi ji agreed to honor their call. This is about building a new Bihar—with jobs for the youth, rights for women, teacher respect, new industries, and better education and health setups."

Before the launch, Tejashwi vowed to create a corruption-free and crime-free government if RJD comes to power in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

Not everyone agrees, though. BJP leader and Union Minister Giriraj Singh took a dig at the yatra, suggesting Tejashwi travel with his father, former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. "Tejashwi should go on this trip with the whole family," Singh said. "Show Lalu ji what real development looks like. He used to ask the poor, ‘What will you do with electricity or roads?’ Take him on a Bihar road trip, and he’ll see the progress Nitish Kumar and PM Narendra Modi have delivered."

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor also slammed the leaders involved. He called PM Narendra Modi, Congress’s Rahul Gandhi, and Tejashwi Yadav "expired medicines" that can’t fix Bihar’s corruption or unemployment woes. "These leaders won’t solve corruption or unemployment," Kishor told reporters.

The Bihar Assembly elections are coming up later this year, setting the stage for a big showdown. The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, holds 131 seats in the 243-member assembly—BJP with 80 MLAs, JD(U) with 45, HAM(S) with 4, plus support from 2 independents. Their main rivals? The Mahagathbandhan, spearheaded by RJD.

As the yatra rolls on, it’s clear Bihar’s political scene is heating up, with big promises and sharp jabs flying from all sides.
