ACB Raids Electricity Officer’s Home in Hyderabad Over Corruption Probe
In a major crackdown on corruption, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided the home of an Assistant Divisional Officer (ADO) from the Electricity department in Kothaguda, Hyderabad, on Tuesday. The officer was posted in Manikonda, and officials say the searches are still ongoing as part of a wider investigation into possible wrongdoing.
The ACB didn’t stop there. As many as 15 teams from the bureau are carrying out simultaneous raids across various districts in Telangana, targeting other potential corruption cases. This shows the agency’s strong push to root out graft in government offices.
Just a week earlier, on September 10, the ACB stepped up its efforts with a surprise inspection at the Tribal Welfare Ashram High School in Sai Kunta, Mancherial district. The Adilabad unit of the ACB teamed up with experts like the Inspector of Legal Metrology, Sanitary Inspector, Food Inspector, and an Auditor to thoroughly check food quality, sanitation, student attendance, and record-keeping.
The inspection uncovered several red flags, including unhygienic conditions around the school premises, poorly maintained rooms, and sloppy record maintenance. The ACB has now prepared a detailed report and sent it to the state government, urging action against the responsible officials.
These back-to-back operations highlight Telangana ACB’s zero-tolerance approach to corruption in public services, from electricity departments to schools. Stay tuned for updates as the raids continue.
