Spiritual Leader’s Call for Unity in Varanasi
In the holy city of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, spiritual leader Bageshwar Dham Sarkar Acharya Dhirendra Krishna Shastri paid a heartfelt visit to the iconic Kashi Vishwanath Temple on Saturday. Known for his bold messages on faith and society, Shastri urged everyone to focus on saving India by building strong social harmony. He warned that without this unity, the country could face troubles like those in some neighboring nations.
Shastri shared his plans for a special padyatra—a walking pilgrimage—from November 7 to 16. This event aims to spread the message of social harmony and push for India to be recognized as a Hindu Rashtra. "It feels amazing to be in Kashi," he told reporters after offering prayers at Lord Vishwanath’s feet. "We’re organizing this padyatra to promote unity and make India a Hindu Rashtra. The country needs protection. To avoid the chaos in our neighboring countries, we must end all animosity and foster harmony. India is already an undeclared Hindu Rashtra—now, we need to make it official in people’s hearts and minds."
From Varanasi, Shastri mentioned he’ll head to Gaya next as part of his spiritual journey. His words highlight the growing conversations around Hindu Rashtra and social harmony in India, drawing attention from devotees and media alike.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) celebrated the moment on X (formerly Twitter), calling it a beautiful reflection of the deep cultural and civilizational bonds between India and Mauritius. "PM Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam of Mauritius offered prayers at the sacred Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Varanasi," the post read. "A visit that reinforces the historic ties uniting our two nations."
PM Ramgoolam is on an official visit to India from September 9 to 16, blending diplomacy with devotion. These events at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple underscore Varanasi’s role as a global hub for spirituality and unity.
