On Vijayadashami, a key Hindu festival symbolizing good over evil, India’s Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) marked a major milestone. The organization wrapped up its first 100 years and stepped into its 101st, right on the date Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar started it back in 1925.
In Delhi, the celebrations kicked off with energy across the city. Organizers held district-level Vijayadashami pujas and Path Sanchalan marches at 346 spots. These events featured Shastra Pujan, a traditional weapon worship ritual, along with lively path sanchalan processions.
Thousands of RSS volunteers joined in, dressed in crisp uniforms and marching to the rhythmic beats of traditional drums. Many more volunteers handled the setup and logistics behind the scenes, ensuring everything ran smoothly.
As the marches wound through neighborhoods and communities, people from all walks of life—young folks, women, and even intellectuals—came out to cheer. They showered the volunteers with flower petals, creating a warm and festive vibe.
The events drew prominent guests too. At the end of the marches, RSS leaders from national, regional, and local levels spoke to the crowds. Prant Sanghachalak Dr. Anil Agrawal and senior office-bearer Indresh Kumar took part in the Vijayadashami festivities and Path Sanchalan at West Vihar.
Deputy Chief of Communications Bharatji showed up at Bijwasan, while another senior leader, Murliji, joined the gathering in Kondli, Mayur Vihar. Provincial in-charge Anil Gupta attended events in Vikas Nagar and Uttam Nagar, and Vishal was at the Delhi University program.
During the speeches, leaders shared the story of RSS’s founding, its core goals, and its impactful 100-year journey. They called on everyone—society at large and volunteers alike—to make five big changes in daily life for the nation’s bright future.
These include building social harmony, lighting up family values, living in an eco-friendly way, boosting Swadeshi by choosing local products, and sticking to civic responsibilities every day.
This Vijayadashami launch officially starts the RSS centenary year. Expect a packed calendar ahead, with door-to-door outreach efforts and a big Hindu Sammelan event to keep the momentum going.
