Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha brought the curtains down on the vibrant Neermahal Jal Utsav 2025 in style. The event wrapped up on Sunday at Rajghat in Melaghar, Shepahijala district, after days packed with fun and tradition.
Picture this: colorful boat races gliding across the water, lively cultural shows, and a dazzling showcase of Tripura’s rich heritage. All of it unfolded against the stunning backdrop of Neermahal, the iconic Water Palace from the 1930s. Crowds of locals and tourists flocked to soak in the excitement, making it a big hit for heritage tourism in Tripura.
Joining CM Saha were Transport Minister Sushant Chaudhary, Tourism Director Prashant Badal Negi, and other key figures. Their presence showed how the state government is all in on boosting Tripura tourism and keeping cultural traditions alive.
In his speech, Saha highlighted the push to improve tourism spots and protect Tripura’s cultural gems through festivals like this. “We’re committed to making our heritage shine,” he said, firing up the audience.
Shifting gears to national news, Saha gave a shoutout to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an event the day before. He praised Modi’s deep care for the Northeast, noting that no other PM has visited the region as often—over 60 trips since 2014!
Saha shared exciting updates on Modi’s upcoming Tripura visit on September 22. The PM will inaugurate upgrades at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple, one of the sacred 51 Shakti Peeths, and perform puja there. “We’ve built it just as the PM wished,” Saha added proudly.
He also touched on Modi’s recent stop in Manipur, saying the situation there looks positive. “The PM is right there supporting us, and he’s heading to Tripura next,” Saha remarked.
This buzz around PM Modi’s Northeast focus and Tripura’s cultural events is sure to draw even more visitors to the state’s treasures like Neermahal and the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple.
