In Tripura’s capital city of Agartala, Chief Minister Manik Saha opened a new BJP party office on Wednesday. He said that people still trying to cause division with old‑school communist tactics won’t succeed in the state.
Saha, who is a senior BJP leader, told the crowd that Tripura’s voters value peace, progress and democracy. “We will not let muscle power rule our state,” he said. “If anyone attacks us, we will answer in court, not in violence.”
Around 690 people—mostly from 200 tribal families—joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at the ceremony. CM Saha welcomed the new members and praised the BJP’s early leaders for their dedication, reminding everyone that the party stands for “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance.
He warned that any group trying to block BJP activities or use violence would be short‑lived. “The BJP lifted power from the communists by building a strong organization,” Saha said. “If any party threatens us, they are living in a fantasy.”
Saha also spoke about tribal welfare. He said the BJP’s Janajati Morcha is working hard to improve life for the Janajati community and that any attempts to stop this progress are misguided. He highlighted that a local party office had been attacked recently, repeating that this kind of violence is part of the old communist legacy.
“We have a right to speak out, but we must do it with dignity,” he added. “Our government will protect those who come to us for justice, and we will fight back legally if needed.”
The event was attended by BJP leaders including State President Rajib Bhattacharjee, state General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, tribal welfare minister Bikas Debbarma, and district president Biplab Chakraborty.
With the BJP in control, the chief minister said the focus is to lift the socio‑economic status of the Janajati people—moving beyond the past where they were used as a vote‑bank. The government’s goal is clear: build a prosperous, inclusive Tripura.
